SSMU, TPU and TUSUR have launched the first project accelerator at the intersection of medicine and IT
Students from the three Tomsk universities and international experts are working together on projects at the intersection of several disciplines. This work is a part of a unique acceleration program for innovative business in health care – Patient Impact Hub.
Patient Impact Hub accelerator is a unique program aimed at developing competences of students, young scientists, recent graduates and innovation companies in medicine, engineering, IT, economics and marketing.
The program will last 98 days and will take place in medical facilities and specialized objects of Tomsk Medical IT Park. Over this time, participants will be immersed in different aspects of innovation management, marketing, finances, and legal studies in health care and conduct research in health care institutions. Besides, they will have an opportunity to test their product and get valuable feedbacks from experts and investors.
56 participants of the project united in 12 interdisciplinary teams, where engineers, health care professionals, economists and IT specialists will be developing their projects together. Some tasks that are to be solved were set by the project partners, such as Samsung and MTS.
In 14 weeks of intense work the teams will give their final presentations to investors and reps of big medical companies, who will choose the winners.
It’s worth noting that the project was launched with the support of experts from Germany. The opening took place in Tomsk “Boiling point” (Tochka Kipeniya).
