Presidential envoy in Siberia, Tomsk region governor, SSMU rector and TNMRC head discussed the implementation of national project “Healthcare” in the region
Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor, and Sergey Menyaylo, RF Presidential envoy in Siberian Federal District, who is on a business trip in Tomsk today, November 19, visited Siberian State Medical University.
Olga Kobyakova, Rector of SSMU, presented Russia’s first Basic medical university that teaches students from 28 countries and 56 regions of Russia to the Presidential envoy.
After that, Sergey Menyaylo, Sergey Zhvachkin, Olga Kobyakova and Evgeniy Choynzonov, Director of Tomsk National Medical Research Center (TNMRC, one of the largest in Russia), discussed the implementation plan for national project “Healthcare” in the Tomsk region. The plan was presented by Ivan Deev, Deputy Governor on social policy. The participants of the meeting paid special attention to prevention and early detection of diseases, including that in remote settlements.
“National project “Healthcare” is one of the main President’s projects. Our Siberian State Medical University, being Russia’s only Basic medical university, will be most directly involved in its implementation. Not only on the scale of the region, but nationwide,” – Sergey Zhvachkin, Governor, stressed at the meeting.
